About twenty years ago, I started working with ceramics. Since then, I’ve created my own ceramic world full of little figures. Figures that dance, bring flowers, share meals, walk their crocodiles or dogs, and wear skirts that light up from within.

I also make beachcomber men and women. My search for plastic began on the beaches of the French coast. Back home, I began using my finds in various creations. Even now, during my daily walks with my dachshund Pom, I continue to hunt for brightly colored bits of plastic. The mesh bags that hold onions, lemons, or garlic become beachcomber sacks, carried by figures dressed in vibrant colors.

I love combining these found materials with objects from thrift shops, flea markets, or gifts I’ve received. I’m always searching, always experimenting. One ongoing project involves ceramic landscape paintings, with or without figures. Another is called “I wish I could put you in a little box…”, inspired by a longing for the sense of safety and comfort I remember from my carefree childhood.

Every now and then, I explore other (ceramic) paths, but I always return to my own whimsical world.
