Mine Manap Turel

I’m a street photographer born and raised in Istanbul, now based in Utrecht, the Netherlands. In September 2023, I founded House of Ginkgo—a photography house where I merge my passion for observing everyday life with visual storytelling across cultures.

My photographic approach is deeply shaped by the vibrant, layered landscape of Istanbul—a city where history and modernity meet on every corner. This background has sharpened my eye for capturing the spirit of urban life, a skill I’ve continued to develop through travels across Europe, Nepal, Cape Town, and most notably, Japan. These experiences have culminated in a carefully curated photography archive that reflects my multicultural perspective.

Before fully committing to photography in May 2018, I worked for 11 years as a patent attorney and earned a Master of Science in Chemistry. Yet it was on the streets, behind the lens, that I truly found my voice.

My work has been exhibited and featured internationally.
