I am Marianne Strijbos, born in Denmark but moved to the Netherlands in 1995, driven by love and exploring new surroundings.

In 2020 I founded Simple Colorful, born from a strong urge to create, discover and play with colour, shape and textile materials.

I use textiles as a story — from old to new, from waste material to art.In my wall hangings, discarded clothing is given a second life. Strips of fabric are torn, sewn, re-cut and built up layer by layer. Each work is an intuitive play of colour, rhythm and texture. The power lies in the repetition, the imperfection, the craftsmanship.
