A Matter of Tactility

The starting point of byLYN’s work is touch. A Matter of Tactility explores how form truly acquires meaning through physical experience and sensation. Drawing inspiration from puffed textiles, the work combines soft, rounded forms with geometric shapes. What appears soft at first glance reveals itself to be hard, demonstrating that looking alone is not enough. The surface invites interaction and encourages touch.

The color palette consists of shades of blue, orange, pink, and yellow. Engobe combined with glaze creates a tension between matte and glossy finishes. Together with texture, graphic patterns, and repetition, these elements make the desire to touch almost inevitable.
