Veronica Pock

Veronica Pock

Veronica is an artist working in the medium of weave, creating wall-hangings and art pieces that incorporate natural materials such as paper, linen and cotton, and some synthetic yarns. Additionally, recycled and repurposed ‘waste’ materials are often included, reinventing and preserving them and the memories that are held within them.

Weaving on a hand-operated electronic floor loom, the yarns and ‘waste’ materials (cassette tapes, old maps and newspapers) are given value and meaning through the weaving process. The resulting work reflects the transient nature of remembered events, experiences and emotions whose existence is cemented by breaking them down, deconstructing them, and then reconstructing them in a new form.

Veronica’s studio is in The Hague. She studied fashion and textiles at the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in The Hague, graduating in 2004.
