'Sjoerd van der Knokke is a Dutch photographer, general practitioner, and expedition doctor. His journey into photography began at eighteen, during a solo trip to India. What started as a personal adventure sparked a lifelong fascination with travel — and a desire to explore some of the most extraordinary and remote places on Earth.

Today, his camera travels with him to the edges of the world — from Antarctica to the High Arctic — where he works as a ship’s doctor. In these wild and fragile environments, Sjoerd captures moments of stillness, subtle change, and raw beauty. His work reflects a deep sensitivity to both the visible and the unseen, shaped by his dual perspective as a doctor and a careful observer of nature.
