Rogier Arents is a designer, artist, and educator based in Rotterdam. He studied at the Design Academy Eindhoven and the Piet Zwart Institute.

His practice focuses on process-based artworks created with pen plotters—obsolete autonomous drawing machines that occupy a unique position between the analogue and digital eras. Arents is fascinated by plotting as a printing process in which changes in materiality become visible over time. As a marker gradually dries out, its shifting properties produce subtle variations and tensions within the line. These evolving marks reveal the interplay between system, time, and chance, making the drawing process itself an integral part of the work.
