Bas van der Poel
Bas van der Poel photographs places where time has left its mark. Under the name Maestro Photography, he documents abandoned and decaying spaces, buildings that once held life and now stand in silence.
He works with natural light and minimal editing, letting peeling walls, rusted structures and falling daylight speak for themselves. Decay, in his work, is not an ending but a passage: the point where beauty and impermanence meet.
His second book, Behind Closed Doors, continues this work — a quiet observation of forgotten places and the unavoidable passing of time.
