Annette Paulsen

Annette Paulsen

Annette Paulsen is based in the Netherland. She started her artistic career with a study of illustration and book art in Hamburg Germany, where she was born and raised. Later she added the master degree in Art Education in Tilburg, the Netherlands. Annette is fascinated by change, coincidence, contrasts, and especially water. Her works reflect the constant transformation in nature and time, expressed in abstract forms and subtle layering. Material and color play an important role in this. The working process, observing the results and adapting her approach, is what drives her.

She works with traditional printing techniques, such as screen printing, intaglio printing, letterpress printing, as well as all intermediate forms. Mixing and combining these techniques characterizes and innovates her style. Annette prefers to work in series, not in editions, because her experimental approach and the high number of printing runs usually allow one-off-a-kind prints, only. The traditional printing workshop offers her the ideal techniques; here is her paradise.

She is organized in cooperative art studio projects and takes part in solo-, group-exhibitions and art fairs in various countries.
